New paint cannot out-perform a failing layer underneath it.
Curbs, ramps, and wheel stops often accumulate layer after layer of coating. Once the lower layers begin to flake, each new coat simply bonds to paint that is already separating from the concrete.
Abrasive blasting removes the failing buildup and lightly profiles the surface, giving the new coating a clean, textured base.
Common blasting applications
- Red fire-lane curbs
- Yellow loading-zone curbs
- Concrete wheel stops
- ADA ramps and painted safety edges
- Stairways and loading docks
- Selected masonry staining and graffiti removal
We select the preparation method around the substrate and the coating being removed; not every surface needs the same level of abrasion.
